To all future patrons…

Undagi Caste by Miguel Covarrubias, 1937.

In Projek AGNI, most of our work is based on experimental form.

Meaning that we take each project from research and data, or insight both quantitative and empirical, and then turn it into something that may challenge your pre-conception of branding or design.

But please don't get this wrong; you will have our utmost service. We don't take these words for selling purposes; rather, it is quite literally that we work 24 hours in our minds for each project; thus, we are very selective on our clients.

We want to give something very ideal not only for you as an individual who has the capacity to pay us, but what can we do to your vision? What is the best outcome for your project that others don't see in such perspectives? And so on. So maybe the result is mostly somehow very peculiar in manners and has never been seen before, a.k.a Not Perfect.

Not perfect, in the sense of today's notion of 'polished-branding-works',no. It is not something very artist-idealistic type of work either, because we mentioned before, we use data.

Hopefully, people will understand it in the future.

What we believe…

It all started about 780 thousand years ago. When humans found a way to make an energy source, that marked the cradle of civilization. We invent fire. Fast forward; it fuels the industrial age, wars, and so on. The functionality of the fire really puts our head it seems, 'ahead' of other species.

Fire, as our reliable energy partner since ancient times, not only ends in it's form as the source of making our raw food taste good, it becomes a symbol. AGNI, or Geni, is a deity of flames that becomes our source of energy and inspiration. We take this name profoundly, as we are surrounded by a vulcanic mountain range here in the Equatorial Emerald, Indonesia. Such a perilous beauty, so it seems.

And moving to the present age. Taking the destruction and fertilization process of merapi, we see this as a way of transformation. By eliminating what is archaic, into something that is bountiful and full of life. We apply this spirit into our practice. Strive to revolutionize the atrocious traditions into something that is sustainable, mostly for Mother-Earth (Bumi Pertiwi). We called this movement: Neo-Indonesiana.
